Guitarmaking has been Roy Courtnall's main area of lutherie for twenty years; he is also experienced in violin making and other areas of musical instrument construction. He is also a well-known author, and a lecturer in musical instrument technology. He offers a range of products to help the new and experienced guitar and violin maker, as well as some items of interest to all musical instrument makers and luthiers; Full-size Guitar Plans and Working Drawings, including Blueprints of guitars made by some of the most famous guitar makers of all time; Instruction Books on Guitar and Violin Making; Violin Plans; and Hiscox Cases for most kinds of musical instruments.

Roy's published books include: Making Master Guitars, which is a complete reference for the guitar maker, and The Art of Violin Making, (which he co-wrote with violin-maker Chris Johnson), and which has a Foreword written by the late Yehudi Menuhin.
